Good Day Divers:
On behalf of the DSC executive we want to announce that the season is pretty much in full swing, and charters have begun. Some of us (dry suit owners) never really stopped diving (28 so far this year, but who's counting). The first charter of the season ran last Friday with an impromptu dive to the Wolfe Islander on Proteus. Anne and Harold (Kingston Dive Charters) are days away from putting their boat in the water. NTD should have Vicky Marie in the water in May. This leads us to the dive season and the wrecks we will visit as a club.
Expect our weekly Wednesday night charters to run in mid to late May, unless Anne indicates earlier otherwise. Water temps right now are 40-36F or 2-6C depending on where in the lake you are and how deep. This makes it typically (except for Andy Brown) uncomfortable for wet suit divers unless their dive is less then 30 min. Visibility right now is typically after 30 feet 20-35 feet and in a few cases 40+. This is arguably the best time of year to dive if you're brave enough!
We have 3 major 3-tank charters booked for this year, 2 on Proteus (for the lake), and 1 with 1000 Island Pleasure Diving (to dive the river wrecks). Spaces are limited and reserve your spot by paying ASAP!
Remember its "Pay" to play not "Say" to Play. $100 is the fee for each 3 tank charter. Typically the 3 tank charters are advanced dive sites.

Happy New Dive Year to all members. I am pleased of the great turnout for our AGM held this past Dec. 14th. we had 25 members show up and cast their ballots, and a new executive was formed. First I would like to thank all those who came forward to run for positions on the executive, and those who did not receive enough votes. It is important, there being a larger number of members running for positions than the actual number of positions. That is a great indication of our club being strong, as well we have a large number of enthusiastic divers among us, who want to see the club move forward in the right direction.

As we see the dive year coming to an end, the members have had another great year diving. Weather had played havoc on our 3 tank charters this past season. We however were able to get out in July on the river and had visited the Keystorm, the America and had a great Drift to finish the day off.
The dive year started out early this year, as the ice played well for the club. We were able to complete 2 successful Ice Diver courses this year and Qualified 7 new Ice divers.

Last Sunday, 24 July, approx a dozen divers from the Dolphin Scuba Club participated in the Club’s first successful three-tank charter for the 2011 dive season. Unfortunately the Club’s first charter, scheduled for 25 June, had to be cancelled due to 20-knot winds on Lake Ontario that day. After a brief stop at US Customs, the divers descended on the wreck of the Keystorm – a large steamer lying on its side in 110 feet of water on the US side of the river. The current was quite strong and an education for those who had never dove in the river before.
